25th Anniversary Evening

Posted on June 22, 2017July 15, 2019 by Mike

The evening of Wednesday 21st June saw about 35 members celebrate our 25th Anniversary with a trip in our longest owned running bus, Cardiff 512 an AEC Swift was the second bus saved by the fledgling CTPG back in the early 1990’s from a scrap yard near Oxford.  Following many tribulations 512 returned to the road in 2012 but has suffered several mechanical problems resulting in long periods of lay up whilst our fitters swore about reasons they were withdrawn by Cardiff so early in life! Following the latest pit time and third successful MOT since 2012 the Swift carried a passenger load and performed faultlessly on the hottest day of 2017.   Following a visit to Atlantic Depot for members to see some of the hidden gems we travelled to a local pub for our buffet anniversary tea and liquid refreshment.
