The Festival of Transport for this year was held on Barry Island last Sunday, with lots of visitors seeing upward of 350 Classic and performance cars. plus a wide range the visiting buses.
We know the visitor numbers were good this year, as our free heritage shuttle bus services saw several extra trips. As it was free for all visitors, we don’t have actual numbers but as buses stay fuller for longer, we can gauge how the show was received. We had some notable new visitors on the bus side with vehicles from Worcester, Kidderminster, Hereford and Northampton complimented by those from Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and Swansea.
I want to thank all those with preserved or cherished vehicles who came, as we
know only too well there is a cost in fuel to get to us, and also those in the industry who took time to come along. On the classic car side, the help by the South Wales Classic Car Club was invaluable and anyone interested just in cars would have had a thoroughly interesting day. It’s a compliment when you hear from the car people that we are seen as one of the best shows
