The chosen bus for our 20 May 2009 evening road run is Martyn Doe's Northern Counties Regent MkV, new in 1966 it was Rhondda Transport's last front engine double deck bus and saw the end of Rhondda's long association with AEC Regents which stretched back to 1929.

For our second road run of 2009 we have chosen Glyn Millington's excellently restored Wigan PD2 DEK3D.  New in 1966 one of three delivered that year carrying the very elegant Massey high-bridge 64 seat front entrance body of the same type delivered to Caerphilly Urban District Council a year later, though to the more standard overall height of around 14' 6''.   This vehicle has recently been acquired by Glyn and has been in preservation with a number of former owners and previously had been absorbed into the South East Lancashire and North East Cheshire PTE (SELNEC) on its' formation in 1974.
