Seen in the 1980s at a Cardiff Rally is National Welsh Bristol VRT HR1818 VHB678S. This bus, along with sister vehicle HR1817 were rebuilt as convertible "open toppers" by ECW for use on the then newly introduced X99 Cardiff - Barry Island service, when the service ceased the two vehicles involved were transferred to Crosville Motor Services, Llandudno Depot in exchange for two standard ECW VRTs. This vehicle is shortly to be returned to its' old depot, "The Bus Depot Barry", where it will be exhibited by its' new owners, group members Matt Carrol and Ian Barlow.
