Minutes of 2008 AGM

The meeting opened at 1945 with 28 members present.
Chairman’s
report:
Rallies:
2007 rallies at Barry and Merthyr were a great success, both bigger and better than previous events. Thanks were given to all those who helped make a success of these events. The Merthyr Rally went particularly well and a good report was given by stall holders. Sponsorship was given by 6060 Coaches of Merthyr and trips to the Brecon Mountain Railway and other destinations were well received. Some car club exhibitors left due to not liking the parking arrangements and we hope to address this problem next time.
The provisional date for the 2008 Barry Festival of Transport is Sunday 8th June.
Website:
The CTPG website continues to draw in new members and also enquiries on transport related matters. Group membership passed the 70 mark in 2007. The site is updated frequently and is a good advertising tool for group activities It is planned to expand this roll.
Rallies attended:
Seven rallies were attended during 2007 with average takings at our stall of £400 with photos being the best sellers. More photos are required to boost our takings and thus increase our funds.
Evening Bus Trips:
Four bus trips were undertaken during 2007, with attractive vehicles and better routes culminating in a pub visit, which seems to go down very well! More planned for 2008 season!

Newsletter:
Cost of newsletter production was discussed and the Chairman suggested that a Laser Printer be purchased as this would aid costs in the long term and improve efficiency and quality of the production. After general discussion it was felt by the membership that the committee should obtain costs, a laser vis-à-vis ink jet and if cost effective, a laser printer should be purchased.
The Newsletter editor suggested that the newsletter publication date be brought forward one month to February 2008 and thereafter every three months. This was accepted.
A member suggested that the newsletter could be e-mailed to those who expressed the desire. Or it may be possible to include it on our website.
