Did anyone say damp !

Barry Festival of Rainfall 2011.  For the last few years Barry has provided hot and sunny weather for our premier event, 2011 proved the exception providing torrential rain all day long.  Entry and visitor numbers were badly affected by the appalling conditions with only the hardy and the mad staying to the end.   We are however very grateful to all those who braved the weather and brought along there exhibits for display.  We once again had plenty of support from our near preservation neighbours the SWT group at Swansea along with the Western Welsh Renown group, Reliance group and those from the Rhymney Valley and Newport, not for getting Ken with his Red & White Guy Arab, Edwards of Llantwit Fardre and Cardiff Bus also sent vehicles for display.  We would also like to thank those who brought along their classic motor cars, all those members and friends who helped in very difficult conditions and of course our visitors.

The scenes above say it all after the Barry Tsunami struck, buses are seen on the car park at Hood Road, visitors seemed hard to find but our free bus services were carrying good loads on our Barry Island and Vale services.  Shown below are some of the vehicles on display along with views taken in the bus depot where most of the activity was seen.  (A number of the photo show Saturdays preparations including bus washing which took place the day before the event).  Traders still did quite well inside the depot and our canteen facilities were well used.
